This conference aims to showcase and uplift local products, contributing to Meghalaya's economic growth and cultural vibrancy. The ODOP Sampark serves as a dynamic platform to spotlight the diverse offerings of Meghalaya's districts, with the recent Bronze award in the States Category at the National ODOP Awards further enhancing the state's recognition.
Dignitaries present included Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture, Meghalaya, emphasizing Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. Dr. Preet Deep Singh from Invest India highlighted India's dominance in turmeric, showcasing Meghalaya's Lakadong Turmeric as a global success story. Shri. Maqbool Lyngdoh Suiam, MAS, ODOP- State Nodal Officer, underscored the media's role in driving the ODOP initiative. Smt Dipangna Singhi from Invest India, along with other dignitaries from the Department of Agriculture, Meghalaya, were also present. Farmers and agri-entrepreneurs shared success stories, crediting state initiatives like Mission Lakadong and Mission Jackfruit to standardise product quality and facilitate access to domestic and international markets.
